Clomid, also known as clomiphene citrate, is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that prevents estrogen from binding to its receptors and assists in reestablishing natural hormone production following anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) use. It works by interrupting the negative feedback mechanism through which estrogen suppresses the release of certain hormones from the pituitary gland and ovaries. Importantly, Clomid does not lower circulating estrogen levels in the blood but instead helps restore hormonal balance by promoting endogenous testosterone and gonadotropin secretion, making it a common choice for post-cycle recovery strategies.
